Succubus Alumnus

Succubus Alumnus

Disrobing demonic anatomy,

you discover whilst you’re unbuttoning

in a palace of partial nudity

demoniac wings, shadow veined, webbing

across their modest span spied in mirror,

cash in hand. Topless succubus in a

g-string, glittered, grad school dropout flitters

shrewd, stilettos, spring, with new nude name —

nomenclature’s everything. Puritans

point you out as “whore” but “angels” blinks above

oak double doors held open by some man,

costume bag in another’s hand.  Beloved

metamorphosis, remakes in cash cocoon

succubus alumnus to drain men soon.
